How are all my fellow crucher friends? I try to keep up my reading here but time has grown very short with me these days. The main reason I havn't posted in some time. This team keeps getting stronger and it looks like we will have that big frog leg bbq in the near future:cool:
Life is good here, except for today. A big storm hit this afternoon and has done alot of damage to my farm. It killed my new 2.4c system!!! Along with several nics, my 16 port switch is toast, and 2 of the channels on my 4 port router are DOA. Still don't know the full extent of the damage, and really don't want to know. P/O'ed enough just trying to get a few systems up and on the net.
Alright! Time for a  Anyone care to join me:p

Glad you dropped by.....I can always join you with a huge tar of
Hopefully, this shockying experience will tell you that it's time for a new surge protector ;).....I really hope that it only killed the fuse of the PSU and the switch :(

I wished the same but can see a diod poped on the mother board. The strange part was that during the thunder storm I kept hearing a poping noise coming from the back of the house. When I came back to my puter room a big crack of lightning hit and I saw sparks come out of one of my other puters and heard that pop again. The network card in that system had 6 diods poped which must have been the numerous pops I heard during the storm. Thankfully that system is back up and running with a new network card.
That sucks. I've been servicing quite a few fried modems lately. Seems like this has been a heck of a year for strong thunderstorms in the south. Well hope you get everything going again soon, and btw good to see your face around. I miss the old bar and grill :D

I miss the bar also my friends. I will re-open the bar soon after the team finishes gigging all those frog legs:D
All my surge protectors did their job well. It was all in the network that zaped my switch, router and network cards. My P4P800 was using the onboard network which fried the m/b.:(
On another sad note, I am soon to down grade my farm and sell most of my systems. I have soooooo much going on in my life now and will need to redirect my attention towards my family. My farm has already been moved to the garage to make room for a new bundle of joy:cool:
