Actually, i was wondering where i might be able to obtain some programs to help test an overclock. On the boards i have read a lot of posts mentioning Sisandra, prime95, and others...would appreciate some help in locating these or other helpful programs.

I have a 1g AXIA chip on a kk266 im planning on overclocking...just waiting on a better heat sink (should be here soon!!) thanks for the help!

There's stability testing and there's performance benchmarking. First stop after a new setting should be Prime95 Torture test. Let it run until the core temperature stabilizes. If it is still running, then run 3D Mark 2001 and if it makes it all the way through, you have a stabil OC. As far as performance benchmarks go, 3D Mark 2001 is a good one. Sysoft Sandra 2001se is a good one. Winbench is a good one and the list goes on...

I kinda like the BurnP6 and BurnBX burnin proggies combined with Q3A loops for stability testing. Q3A tests for stability, and the burning proggies really get the CPU smokin'. Basically it's pure hell on an OCed system(bogs the fastested machine to a crawl too)!!!!!!!!!!!!

I often hear references to Quake3 Arena. I have the actual software, but have never figured out how to get it to display FPS. I'm not all that fond of it as I prefer to play the computer ala Quake 1 and 2.
FWIW, i get higher temps from burnk6 than burnp6 with my AMD cpus. Burnk6 blows away Prime95 for elevating the temperature.

Have any of u watched ur temps when u are running F@H? I haven't found any other program that can heat my CPU, more than F@H. Is there any sense in this, or is it just me that have tried the wrong prog's?

I say another good torture test is to play Giants for 8 hours straight, in a highly overclocked state, with all the goodies on...that's what I did...and it didn't crash once... :) Actually, I haven't really had a BSOD problem with this puppy at all. Oh, it still happens, but usually when I bring it out of sleep mode after a few hours, but that's no big deal. I still haven't gotten brave enough to upgrade to 2k yet....hmmmm....

What board are you using Metatexas? I would like to get a ddr board and I am looking for a stable overclocker!

An Iwill KA-266R. Its a good board I guess, i'm hoping BIOS updates will come soon though......
