Im under a tight budget for the pc im going to build and im looking for a good HSF thats alot better than the retail one that comes with the athlons (2500 in my case).

can anyone help me out here?

(id prefer to order off of newegg if you can direct link me to something good)

Yes:
Heatsink: all copper Thermalright

You will not find a better value than $15.99 SK-7, look no further.

Don't forget a fan, nothing too loud, but pretty much any 80x25mm will do with SK-7.

Look for directions on how to apply thermal paste (it comes with sk-7) but this is a good one:

or

SLK-800(U)

In tests using T-Bred B 1700+ results were better than Volcano 7+ by 212-300 MHz
and 347-433 MHz better than Volcano 9, Volcano 11.

However, results were only 30 MHz better than with

$15.99 Thermalright SK-7

did i mention the board im getting doesn't have mounting holes? Alrighty. Anyways, are there any good heatsinks with the fans already on them for my pricerange?

Hm... I got mine there too and it came in the original Thermalright brown box with fan clips and thermal paste...

I know someone who bought the cheaper SK6+ there and it also came with thermal paste. This was like 6 months ago or so. Did they change up over there?

how does a fan stay on the sk7 if you cant screw it in?

its clamped down or something?

Going for a heatsink because its fan is screwed in instead of clamped is like going with a Celeron because "it has more megahertz."

Yep, just get an sk7 and a 5 dollar 80mm fan. There are so many cheap ***, bad cooling hsf combos that cost much more than that. Sk7 clips on to the ziff, fan clips on to the sk7. Best cooling solution for 20 bucks.
