I would be really carefull purchasing anything from www.tufshop.com they have VERY bad ratings on Resellerratings.com. Check it out: http://www.resellerratings.com/vendone.cgi?Tufshop.com. This is just a word of warning!

Yea, tufshop.com is posting everywhere on there cpu's.
I just got an AXIA unlocked 1.33(266) from newegg.com
Funny thing is on their site they said they were locked, when I got the chip, it was NOT locked. Then a day later I noticed they took down the spec regarding the chip being locked.
hehe
duh
they don't guarantee axia tho right? i didnt see where they said they were locked or not either. =)

You know, I'd really like to give tufshop a shot, but their horrible rating at resellerratings is really standing in the way. It's nice that they're willing to check the codes on the CPUs and stuff, but from the reviews at resellerratings it makes me kind of concerned that they'll follow through and send me what I ordered. And, if they do not, it will be a major hassle sending it back in (according to those same reviews)...
I don't know what to say. If there was some way I could get some sort of assurance, I'd probably do business with them. As it stands now, I probably won't.

All 1.33 GHz CPUs are thought to be AXIA CPUs. There might be a few AVIAs thrown in, but so far all of the ones in the CPU database are AXIA. The thing is 1.33 GHz cost an arm and a leg. It would be nice to pick up a 1 GHz for just over $120 and have it be an AXIA...

Also I read at http://www.apushardware.com/faqs/amd/AMD_FAQ/thunderbird.php
That all the newer ThunderBird w/266 bus are coming unlocked from the factory.
Clip from site above
"I just bought a 1.2Ghz T-bird, and I noticed that the L1 bridges were joined from the factory, indicating my multiplier is unlocked. Why has AMD done this?
Current thought is that AMD might have done this so people who buy the new DDR 266MHz FSB mainboards and the 1.2Mhz chips could run them at 133x9. It is expected that once the 1.3GHz T-bird is released, it too will be unlocked from the factory for the same reason."
