if i get heatsinks for my ram on my 9500 np will i be able to overclock higher with out seeing artifacts, cause right now i cant go over 303 with out seeing artifacts in some games (ravenshield)

Do you have the Infineon 3.3 ns BGA chips? I cant go past 300 right now. Ramsinks would help, but when coupled with a voltage it would really then allow you to go higher(for example, the same as a cpu, if you dont raise the voltage, even with peltier cooling, you will hit a limit). Just adding a heatsink would prevent stabilty issues if it's overheating, and the core gets very hot, on my shappire, 80 +Celsius while gaming, while the memory stays at 50 C. or so.

i have ramsinks on my sapphire 9500np. I cut them out of the copper chipset that came w/ the Iceberq set. Apparently, I heard, and think, that heat has nothing to do w/ memory speed. According to theory, the formula states that if you do: 1000/3.3 x 2= 606mhz. 606mhz is a max number you can have in ddr mode. But when you overclock with the utilty, it means you're not suppose to go over 303mhz ( 1000/3.3ns). But, I also heard that if you have enough airflow blowing over ur heatsinks on the memory chips, it can get u 5-10mhz more...dont buy the tweakmonsters though, they're rip offs...just make 'em out of aluminum/copper heatsinks...

how can i find out if i have 3.3 ns? and how can i find out how hot my video card is?

and will hot glue or super glue work to attach a heatsink to my ram and core?

The memory ns speed can be found in the BGA chip, it should say it, 3.3ns or 3.6ns. I know it's extremely hot, since I cant touch the heatsink for more than a second with out nearly burning my finger! I only overclocked the core 30 Mhz or so...if you have the gold colored "orb" cooler in the Shappire, you probably want a better cooling solution, much worse than ATI retail.

Ramsinks helped me. The BGA Tweakmonsters helped me get 12 extra artifact free mem clock (303 to 315)

Use the Arctic Silver/Alumina Adhesive set, comes with two mixing tubes, that is the best to use for memory and GPU cooling, super glue isnt meant to be used there. Im currently cutting an AMD retail heatsink to make it fit the radeon and some BGA ramsinks...

should i take off the heat sink thats there already or can i just put the new one on the otherside of the core?

I would say to get the Iceberq4 cooler, it's pretty good, comes with 4 ramsinks too. How are you going to fit a heatsink on the back of the card?

just glue it on.

i just looked up this cooler on svc.com (http://store.yahoo.com/svcompucycle/vaicprvgacok.html) and it doesnt say it will work with a 9500np or a 9700np, so does this mean it wont work or is it just not recommended?

Yes, it will work for your Radeon 9500 np. They all use the same clipping positions, although, ask vantec just to be certain.
