I'm using a Abit KT7A board, and when I had my TBird 900 going at 1076, Waterfall dropped my idle temp by about 10 C. The home page says that it has the opposite effect on TBirds. Wuzza?

I have the same processor and mainboard. neither Waterfall, nor Rain worked for me - long term. initially Rain lowered my idle temp by about 10 C. however, in a matter of just a few days they went back up again! WTF? then switched to Waterfall - no effect. I don't get it, but if I were you - I'd keep an eye on those temps for a while.

i have my amd duron 700@at 910
on a abit kt7a
7X130
1.675Vcore
and it runs at 27 idle thanks to rain but waterfall dont work as well and i had it about 4 weeks or so and it runs at 31 idle with out it
so maybe it diffrent proccesors that stops it working or bios or somthing else
its a bit dodgy rain not working on some and on other

Bios and O/S can impact the effectiveness of halt-on-idle type cooling programs. Some O/S have it built in through the ACPI features. Theres an excellent article on the front Overclockers.com page about how Bios has an impact. Both of those settings can change from a failure to post due to attempting a too high OC and having to discharge the cmos ram and/or crashing your O/S too many times for the same reason. Whenever I lose the "rain" effect, I have found that checking my bios settings, refreshing the O/S and/or reloading a halt-on-idle program usually restores the feature.
