I am trying to replace a P2B motherboard, PII 350 processor, and video on a budget.
any thoughts on this board with an XP1700 and 256 megs of ram.
The current system is PC 100 (128Meg)

this is an email, internet and maybe a word document user.

Maybe a Pocket PC will be sync'ed but USB 1.1 is good enough I think.

thanks for your time and input.

That board is a little old but a good preformer. But you will have to buy new ram (DDR) PC 100 will not work. Also for a budget minded board with more potential I would buy a N-Force 2 board with the IGP, but thats my 2 cents

I have used that board in some clients systems a while back and it got the job done. Its a pretty good budget board. Look around and see if you can find an Nforce2 or KT400 board for around the same price, though. Yes, you will need to get some DDR memory if you use that board.

I know that there will be new memory.
suggestions on an Nforce board are welcome.
I need something stable that is why I picked an asus board.
I have had bad luck with gigabyte. I have had and liked abit and epox boards in the past so I am ok with those brands.
thanks
