View Full Version : which chip
if you guys were buying an amd chip today, what would you look for? which one would you buy? seems the 1.2 is quite popular.
thanks,
john
I would go after a 1.33 266FSB chip with the code AXIA on it. That seems to be the best one out there right now for overclocking.

Look for AXIA coded 1.x/266 chips. They seem to have the best overclocking potential.
Terry
ok so 1.3 with axia code? does it matter if it's oem or retail?

I'd recommend you get an OEM chip.
Terry
OEM would be cheaper but Retail will have a better warranty.
hrm...any recs on vendors that would guarantee that code? i called newegg and they said no.
