how to apply artic silver comound?

how to apply artic silver comound?
should i put alot or little? over the die or the heatshink of both?
any info would be great

thanx dudes, i tried!!!
but the damm f**** tube is so badly designd! that i spilld half of it on my tiny chip! damm it, i tried to suck it back with little sucsess, maybe i just got a bad tube,
but i spent really alot of money for this tiney amount :(((((((

It's not just you, I did the same thing when I put together my first system this weekend. Lots of AS2 spilled all over my chip but using some acetone, goo-gone and alcohol cleaned it up well. I was hesitant about using the goo gone stuff but the AS2 homepage recommends it.
