i am killin myself 'cuz there was a computer convention in town here in San Antonio, and i saw this chip for only $170. at the time that i saw it i thought it wasn't true, but i kept eye bawlin it at the show for hours. then i sayed to myself that i needed money for my truck to be repaired, but the repairs were much cheaper than thought. so now i am wishing for a time machine, so i could tell all the people at the alamo that there not goin to make it, and also to get that cpu back. man........ my advise is, if u have the chance don't wait, get it while u have the chance!

Maybe if you wish strongly enough, you will get transported back in time. ;-)

My tb1200 AVIA stepping has benched stably at 1450..(pics elsewhere.. in the forums) ...locked after benching at 1501 and posted at 1550 (immediately locked going into Windows). I think all A?IA's (? indicating maybe any letter) seem good...Just wish I had some more voltage .... hmmm where did I see that article on a voltage tweak for the Epox 8KTA3???

I think what has been determined as the further in the alphabet you get, the better the CPU you have. So, an AVIA is just one step behind an AXIA CPU. Just below that we have AXHA and AVHA CPUs.

OldBugger.
The voltage mod for the 8kta3 is on the Overclockers.com main page and is under motherboard reviews. I did the mod and it works great! Make sure you do a good bond with the solder because when you tweek the prntanomiter, it is likely to break off otherwise. Let us know how it works!

I live in Wichita Falls. There is a first saturday flea market for computer related stuff in Dallas every month. It is this coming sat the 7th. They always have cpus. I am going to try and get a AXIA there. Last month I bought a Abit KT7A-Raid for 125.00. If you go get on I-30 east off of I-35 N. Get off first exit down town. Stop and ask directions. Any one can tell you how get there. I don't know the streets but I know how to get there.

One thing to remember, the odds are that the next batch of chips will be better than the AXIA. I toasted a 1.2 AXIA that was only stable at 1425 mHz. Out side of the money, I'm not that sad about it. I've decided to focus on cooling for the time being and wait for the next batch.
