View Full Version : Faulty Tbird?

I got my 430W Enermax PSU installed yesterday and I was like "Neat, now I'll break that 1.2G".

As some of you know, I've been having problems with the Vcore voltage dropping to a maximum of 1.725. With that Enermax I tought I'd get rid of it, but no.
If I set that tbird to anything above 1028MHz, it drops the maximum settable core voltage to 1.725.

1143Mhz (highest I ever got it to go thru PiFast 3.3) IS stable as long as the voltage stays set to 1.850, but it usually drops it down in about 30 minutes... On occasion it runs for a couple of hours, but that's it.

I'm starting to consider the voltage mods for my KT7A-R... It's just a shame I can't send the chip back to the vendor... (L1 bridges, u know)

So, if anyone has any clue what is/might be causing this, I'd be grateful. Thanks in advance.

It sure sounds like you got a bad vcore regulation circuit on your mobo. The voltage mods would not help if you have a regulation problem. The elevated voltage that the mod enables will not regulate either.
My opinion...

Thanks. I was starting to wonder that myself, too.
Maybe I'll return the mobo...
