Help. Cant get a post

ok put together :
barton 2500
a7n8x del
centon pc2100 512 ddr
starts up and evrything ligts up fine but I get no video or post.
anyone have any ideas.
I put the ram stick in each slot and that made no difference.
The video card is a geforce mx 420 pci 64 mb.

Someone plx help me

if there is no post *at all* then the most likely problem is a chipped cpu

unplug everything and just leave the cpu, ram and graphics card. While you are at it reseat those 3 and double check they are plugged in correctly. Check the cpu core for any damage

Also, try resetting the cmos for 10-15 seconds before switching the pc on.

Ok I figured out the problem. Well I think!
I switched out the pci geforce and put in an old tnt2 agp card.
The post and video came up and everything worked great there after. Now all I have to do is go buy a new agp card. I talke the parents into spotting me money, I'm so broke right now. I think I'll grab that gefoce 5600 agp for now
