Okay so I did a little reading on these new chips that I have seen on the Geil Golden Dragon sticks. Is there any other companys making these besides Geil? Heres some links far as info on them. What do you guys think, is this something that's going to be a new standard or should I just stick with the standard sticks that are out there? From what I read heat isn't a problem with these so they can be run at much higher voltages.

Anyone have these yet?

I just ordered some dragon pc3500, should be getting them soon. Ive had some geil sticks before. Though this is the first with this type of packaging. Kinda cool. I hope they work out well.

I doubt it will become a standard if and when, anytime soon. Geil makes chips in house. Theyre also a small company, so they can afford the small production capital to make some custom products. For it to be a standard, someone like Samsung would have to invest alot into a new fab process. I doubt theyre ready or willing unless it yields more than an incremental performance increase.

Theyre still cool though.

From what I hear, theyll suck up voltage and keep on trucking. So thats good for those who like to mod.

TwinMOS has started offering their WLCSP-based TwisTER modules in the U.S.

The technology (CSP) has also used by Rambus for RDRAM for around 5 years now. I don't think WLCSP will prevail over BGA when it comes to DDR-II because of the added die size, but it most likely won't go away.
