In case you haven't heard I burnt up my brandnew AMD 1.33Ghz chip. I never got past the initial boot up at factory settings. God only knows when the factory will send me a new one.

In the mean time Im playing with a duron 750 loaned to me by a friend. Im trying to use CPUFSB but im not sure what PLL is and what should be in the two catagories, PLL manufacture and PLL type.

The chip is pugged into a KT7A-RAID.

Why can't you just use the BIOS FSB adjustment? Seems like it would be a bit easier...

PLL is phase locked loop, a timing circuit. Have you tried booting with User Select at 10 *133 FSB?

And your question if it gets answered still wont help ya,

That program when it asks for the PLL does this because it is incompatable with that mother board you have. The designer of the program needs that info you are asking about to incorperate your mainboard into that fsb mod program.

Also if you have any good Amd based Mother board you can adjust FSB from the bios.I hope this helps you to save time.

Download the latest version of SiSoft Sandra and run the Mainrboard Information app. See if it is able to identify your clock chip.

But I dunno if any of these SoftFSB types utilities work with any Athlon boards. Most are for Intel CPU motherboards like my Soyo SY-6BA+IV. As diehrd has pointed out, your Abit board has BIOS settings for FSB and multiplier selection.

Yes I am well aware that my Abit board alows me to set the FSB in the BIOS.

However, using a Soft FSB has a number of advantages...

Thanks to the one person who actually responded with a possible solution to my problem.

LOL,,Thanks to the one person who has helped you ??

If I am mistaken I am sorry but arent you a P-3 overclocker,New to AMD ??You thank a P-3 owner for advice that cannot in a million years help you.SI Soft Sandra cannot provide you with that info,Not now not ever.If it could that software designer would have had that info long ago.

The best place to adjust a fsb is IN A BIOS.Amd boards have allowed this for a long time,That soft fsb was intended for the lame pentimum boards.

You thank a person who said what you wanted to here
I can only wish I was a salesman in a posistion to sell you something !!!

Hear is your Only solution>>>Adjust FSB from bios.

On your soft menuIII if you set 133/33 you need to set multiplyer to 5x for your Duron. then up it .5 until it locks in windows then up the volts .50 to stablize. That should get you going. Sorry to here about your 1333 chip dieing. I just bought mine today.
