In my other post you said "AXIA is a new stepping, all of theses chips O/C well. All chips above 1.2GIG are AXIA chips." So do 1.2's and above have this "code" or just anything above 1.2? In other words, whats the slowest AMD CPU I can buy and still reach 1.4+ Ghz? Thanks in advance.

you need to rephrase your question. The lowest cpu to get to 1.4 would probably be a duron 600 on liq. nitrogen. You need to decide what cooling methods and motherboard chipset you will be using. With very good air cooling:
1.33 = excel. chance
1.2 axia = exc. chance
1.2 avia = good - very good
1.0 - 1.1 axia = fair - good
1.0 - 1.1 avia = fair
1.2 - 1.0 older codes = poor

I just generalized these but this is what appears to be the case from my observations. Ed would be the man that could really narrow this down :)

The CPU speed grade really doesn't matter at all. It's all in the codes, baby ;-)

If you get an AXIA you have a good chance of hitting 1.4 GHz, AVIAs are next up and are still a really good chance. Then there are the AXHAs (?) and then AVHAs. AXHA/AVHA is probably a little bit of a longer shot, but it can happen (and I hope it does for me 'cause I have an AVHA on the way ;-) )

OK, so how do I tell what the "code" is before I purchase it? I'm planning on getting the Iwill KA266-R mobo, with a normal air cooling system (nothing fancy) Since there are two different types of 1.2 Ghz with different codes, will I even be sure what I get until I receive it and look at the chip?

And that is the 64,000$ question. You can ask the company who you're ordering from, but chances are the sales people and the inventory warehouse are not in the same location. You can go to a local computer show and then talk to the salesperson face to face and they'll probably let you see the procs and examine them. I happen to be very fortunate and have a very large computer show at the local junior college here every 2 months so I can go root around there and pick up parts.
