I was looking at some different cooling components and they said they were for intel p4 and amd k7 and k8 whats that?

K7 is the current generation chip amd is offering, the socket 462 chiops, the athlon 
K8 is the new Hammer chip that is comming out (Opteron version is out, AMD 64 is out next month)
