Ok Guys heres my system
AMD Duron 750 cooled with ThermalTake Volcano II
Mushkin Basic PC 133 128 MB Ram
Abit KT7A MB
Elsa Gladiac 32 MB DDR Video Card
Maxtor 10GB HDD ( will be upgrading soon)
Crappy sound card
Antec Full Tower Case
300 watt Sparkle Power Supply
one intake fan
one exhaust fan
artic silver II

My question is what do u think. I was given the MoBo and Case. I will be getting some souped up RAM soon but I needed some PC133 to get her running. I am waiting until I get my memory on Monday before I put it all together and fire it up. Is there anything I should know about. I have not done the pencil trick on the L1 Bridge yet. Once I do the pencil trick what do u think is the fastest I can get it too. Any other comments would be super.

I know it will be faster than my K6-II 450...I cant wait.

You have the KT133A chipset, it likes higher FSB's. You should get a gig out of it any how. Kick the Vcore up and play with the FSB and multiplier combos until you find out what works best. Don't forget to keep an eye on the temps.

Personally, I'd lose the Volcano II, or at the very least, lapp it and slap on a Delta 38 or something w/ a little more power. It may say 36cfm on the box, but its only 26.

Wega!

At just 1.85v I would imagine a speed of 950Mhz should be available to you. It depends on the A code. AKCA 750's are good units for higher frequencies.

The posting earlier was a good one - get rid of that volcano - that's what they turn your CPU die into!!!

Get a Swiftech or wait for the Millenium Copper to surface in all its glory

Stick a nice big hsf on that Gladiac and oc it as far as it'll go - and I second the comment about the volcano, if you want to oc the duron to a gig or further it'd be best to get a better hsf, like the PEP66, FOP38, Swiftech MC462 (expensive!) to deal with the heat. Anyway, good luck with the oc, sounds like a nice system :-)

Have a look @ the Taisol 742092.
It's a lovely heatsink...

Your system looks ok to me and i like that gladiac of yours. As Rob sad get a blue orb on the GPU and oc it
to the max.If i was U i would get a thermoengine w/ a loud delta black label on it.With that I think U could reahc the gig.I have a duron 700 and i have managed to push it to 970 but i can't reach the gig until i get a delta black label.At 1.85( mbm5 1.94 ) the proc is running @ 970 (9 x 107 ) idle 40C and load 43C case temp 23C
