i just acquired a BUNCH of comp CRAP, socket 5 boards, and CPUS, 1 socket 7 board, few S7 CPUs, i need somethin to do with them. i would like to build a yatta, but i dont have a controlling comp fast enough. there will hopefully be 3 working 66 or 75 mhz socket 5 comps, and a 200-300 mhz socket 7. i only have 3 hard drives, could prolly get another. 1.2 gig drive. what should i do with them? i only have 1 spare monitor, i want to set up a cluster or yatta, but dont have enough of a system tolead (unless a 200-300 will do, or if the dual socket 5 board works, that. any suggestions? i really want these comps folding.
hmmmmm, hard to say what would be the best thing to do. Maybe use your main computer to control them all or something. I hope someone else who has done a yatta posts in this thread.

well it looks as if i wont be able to set up a beowulf cluster. i dont think folding is set up to work right under one. i guess i'll have to either make K12 linux run off of the faster P1 comp and serve to the slower ones, or just find hard drives and run each as an independant system.

well i tested everything today, andout of 8 boards, 1 of them work. 1 of them... sheesh! i started hackin up the huge case i got, have 2 power supplies mounted, need to mount he switches. i'd like to somehow make the panels into 2 or 3 pieces instead of the 1 big panel. this case makes my antec seem small. i think i might cut it out so it will fit an ATX board in it. 6 bays for CD roms, and i think 8 3 1/2 inch bays. i'll be running an AT board in it for now, till i get somethin ATX and faster than the 233 mhz i'll be running.
