try to run your rig without overclocking your CPU. the checksum error is standard after you clear your CMOS.

hope this helps.

Can you try the CPU in another MB?

Are you able to get into the BIOS? If so, make sure that the CPU settings are set to the default 'Auto' settings. See if the MB is identifing the CPU correctly. I might even go as far as to select the BIOS defaults. Get everything back to the factory settings on the MB. If it works, you can then start to tweak.

the stuff is all brand new, cept the HD i can not get into bios and nothing has been altered. i start the computer, it checks CPU, RAM, HD i get checksum error then it authmatically shuts down after 20 or so seconds. When i try to enter BIOS by pressing delete it auto shuts down also.

I've tries new battery, clearing CMOS and checking connections so far. I've also tried popping in winXP cd.

thx - MattR

could it be a power issue?
i have 350W PSU
Running: Radeon 9800, Barton 2800, ABIT NF7-S, OCZ Ram, HD, Floppy, DVD, CD-RW, Volcano 9 w/ Coolmod and 6LED Case Fans.

i just unpluged all the unused things like extra fans, sensors and it ran a lot longer then usual so i'm leaning toward power shortage.

*edit*
i can also get into the bios now but it still shuts down after the like 20-30 seconds of being in the bios so i'de have to gogogo quick

Hmmm.

Sounds like a PSU. I hope that's it. That is easy to fix.
