Not sure anyone can really answer your question with any degree of certainty. Higher than normal voltage and heat are what generally decreases the CPU lifespan the most. So, as long as you keep the vcore as close to default as possible and you have better than average cooling, you should be ok, regardless of how much you overclock it.

batboy,
Did you have to raise Vcore to get 3.5Ghz? I'm stuck at 3.45Ghz with default Vcore (1,55V) and FSB at 230Mhz, 1:1.
Prime95 fails at 240Mhz 1:1 (3,6Ghz) Vcore=1,6V, but I can run 3Dmark2003 wihtout a prob.

Yes I've bumped the voltage up to 1.575v. I can run up to 3.6 gig, but it's not completely stable (even with vcore cranked up to 1.65v). The sad thing is I have a brand new water cooling system and a brand new IC7 mobo gathering dust. I haven't done any computer work on my system this summer. I've built and/or upgraded 3 computers for friends. Been working on my hotrod Fiero... and I have a new g/f monopolizing my time.

girl: "Does this dress make me look fat?"

guy: "No, it's your big butt makes you look fat!"

Actually, I really like my current g/f. She's a sweetheart and I enjoy spending time with her. And no, her hinny is not big. She's a babe!
