Ok I got this CompuNurse Advanced temperature probe for my 2100+ (tbred) and I trimed some of the fat off the probe tip and put it next to the side of the core, but according to it the temps are around 34C yet the bios reads 43C and I know that the temps are higher than 34C because of the HSF im using. Now I did get good readings with this probe when I had on another cpu and I placed it on the corner of the core but this 2100+'s core is longer and has these little chips around the core. Anyone know where is the best place to position the temp prob on my proc? Thanks!

My understanding is that you want to place it on the bottom of heat sink as close as possible to where it comes in contact with the core but not actually between the heat sink and core (as that would hinder heat transfer)

Putting it on the heatsink won't give you the right temps either. If you stick it to the underside of the processor directly under the die it should give you better results but they will still be a little cooler than the actual cpu temps as the packaging isn't that conductive.

yea I currently have it placed with the tip right next to one of the core sides but the temps dont seem accurate. An interesting note is that on the other proc I used this temp probe for, I had the tip of the temp probe at the corner of the core but this one is on the side because these little chips are in the way by the corners and some other sides.
