Here's an update on my situation. Got my ceramique today and applied it. It's cool in my room now, so the big test is upcoming (when it's hot in here), but as of right now it appears the ceramique may have lowered my cpu load temp around 5c (compared to the usual load temps when it's cool in here). I'm hoping it lowers even more after the 12 hour settling time. Temps are still high but this is encouraging. haha... when I first put ceramique on I looked in bios and saw temps around 70c and I immediately shut the system down.. found out I had a fan clip out of its socket so I guess there wasn't good contact between the heat spreader and heat sink.
