Probably for a dual channel NF2 mobo, to match his existing stick (??)...

I'd think that myself, Kevin... One of these days, a stick of Corsair 256MB XMS PC3200 v1.1 will make it's presence known to me, and I'll grab it for the same reason....

Hopefully not soon...gonna be a while 'fore I got the dough. Just got a new HDD this w/e. ;D

Although, with DDR so cheap again, it might be just as easy to put that stick of Kingston PC3000 away, and get a new matched set of PC3200. ;)

Yeah, with RAM prices even I couldn't help getting another 512... but I can't say 1024mb ram makes a big difference with average use (hell, most of what I do nowadays is surf the net lol).

Try googlegear.com

they should have them:
http://www.googlegear.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80088

it is for $120 though.
Weird, I got them like 4 months ago for $95 from the same place..
I thought prices should drop with more time :)

When I went from 512MB to 1024, it seemed to make a sizable difference in some apps/games (not just benchies, either...LOL).

The "average Joe Sixpack" might not need the extra half gig, but I tell ya...it sure helps out in UT2003 and NASCAR 2002. :D Same CPU/overclock, same vid card (never overclocked), higher frame rates in both games, just from doubling the ram.

<back on topic>

I don't know how well one stick of PC3000 and another of PC3200 (even if they're both Kingston HyperX) will work in DC....might work great, might not... I might do some reading in the "Memory" topic and see if it's been done, and what results were. I've always read for running DC, you want the two sticks as closely matched as possible....
