Redduc900 must have the night off.
I'm no substitute for his expertise, but I did find a link, http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314056 .

From the sounds of things, you may need to back off your OC a little.

Svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services that are run from dynamic-link libraries (DLLs). The Svchost.exe file is located in the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder. At startup, Svchost.exe checks the services portion of the registry to construct a list of services that it needs to load.

It could be many things causing your problem, a virus, a drive glitch, or a memory error. But it is obviously an integral part of the OS.

I think a memory error is the most likely cause.

I'm curious. How did you find out for sure it was a virus? Any idea how you contracted it? And how did you get rid of it? Are you running any anti virus or software firewall?

i just went snooping around and low and behold there was the msblast.exe
so i deleted it and viola all better
and yes i run norton firewall and anti-virus
