View Full Version : next line---when?
I've been holding out on buying a new card in anticipation of the price drop when the next line of ati cards hits the shelves. the problem is, that line, as well as d3, was supposed to be out a few months ago. anyone heard when all this is supposed to happen?

Supposidly R360 will be out next month, hopefully the r350 products will drop prices then. I will probably wait for r360 prices to drop though, as there is no pressing need to upgrade for these new games, HL2 will run fine on my gf3 which I bought almost 2 years ago.

The Radeon 9700 line didn't drop that much when the 9800 hit, so I'd expect the same when the 9900 hits. Usually when the card first hits the market it's near impossible to get anyhow, so other cards that are more available continue to sell.
what are clock speeds for 9900 pro/np gonna be

You might want to re-think that one...
Some people like running at 640x480
I cant go back now, even with my mega slow 9700, i need hi res.
I would say wait 2 months if you want t osave 40 bucks, other than that, just buy now!

Why's that? HL2 will run well on a GF2MX, even.:p

Yea, it'll run fine if you play at low resolution, no AA, and AF. Who would want to play it that way anyway? Not me, thats for sure. That's why I'm getting a 9800 before I buy the game.
You guys do realize this game is highly scalable, right?
yeah, that meens it will run at 400x 300 with everything turned off on a geforce 2....
to get 800x600 with some ey candy on, a geforce 3 ti ot radeon 8500 will be needed. Anything above that will be great, ESP 9x00's.
