Okay , i bought a new heat sink today and i also picked up some artic silver II . Put that sucker in and now my comp. wont boot up!! well the fan on on the mobo runs .. and i can hear the hard drives spin yet nothing is on the screen. So i change the video cards just to check , but it still doesnt seem to work.....So i decided to start over from step one and took every thing apart and put it back together. still no luck ? Any Suggestions would be really appreciated..... how do you know if you fry up the mobo (that thought has ran throught my mind) or did i mess up the chip? well i guess imma go shell out 40 bucks for a duron 600 just to see if its the board or the chip....

What heatsink did you get? Have you tried clearing cmos, made sure the RAM and all cards are seated properly - in case anything got jogged while changing hsf's? Also check that the mobo isn't shorting on the case - though if that were the case, the fans probably wouldn't switch on.

Its probably your BIOS. Does your BIOS support JumperFree mode, or can you change your Multiplier and/or FSB in BIOS? If you had your last chip overclocked, this might be the problem.

try to clear your cmos first (it's in the mainboard manual). That should work.

I agree. There is probably something wrong with your cpu. I recently killed mine and had the same reaction. I would suggest RMAing it (unless you've gone and done something permanent and very noticable to it like I did)
