Liteon 48X Invalid Writestate when tryin to burn a cdr?

this writer is around 5months old and has had quite a bit of use. It reads cd's but has just started today not writing and giving me an error in nero. Im just wondering if its the writer thats had it. It gives me this message at all writing speeds....

Burn process failed at 32X (and any writing speed)

This is the first time its ever done this, its very sudden and hasn't miss-copied before..

Is this a writer problem? Is it due to ware and tear and could this be resolved by increasing the Laser Hi-Pot on the writer? thanks .. gazz

I am currently getting this "could not perform endtrack" error with nero right now. I have tried changing ide cables, updating nero, and using other software but nothing works. The drive can read cdrs but oddly cannot write. Does anyone know a fix?

My LG 48x CDRW did the same thing so I RMA'ed it and the new one I recieved worked fine, so I'm pretty sure its a problem with the drive itself.

I was hoping that it wasnt broken. I dont even use it that much and this error suddenly came up from no where.

Have you reinstalled your OS or changed any drivers lately?

Nope, no change to the os and i dont think i changed any drivers also. I did a system restore to a time when it was functioning but still received the same error.

I would try reflashing or updating the firmware on your drive. I was having similar trouble with my 52x and reflashing cured it.
