What does this Prime95 test ending mean?

Don't worry about it. Prime95 torture test allocates a lot of memory - in hopes of finding errors that may appear only at specific memory addresses. Windows returned an error when prime95 tried to allocate memory. Caused either by too many other programs running, a bug in Windows garbage collection, a bug in prime95, or something else. In any event, it does not indicate a hardware error.

Thanks Prime95.

What do I need to do so that Prime95 can run for more than a day or so? Is it as simple as just turning off all running background programs except explorer and systray?

In version 23.6, the torture test gives you 3 choices. Choose in-place large FFTs - that will do a lot less memory allocating but still give you a good stability test.

or you can run a primality test that will run for about 10 days or so

With the newer hyper-threaded P4s, is it still necessary to load 2 instances of Prime95 using ver 23.6, because I used the first instance for small-FFT and the second for blend and this method only loaded the CPU up to 50-60% unlike the previous version, which loaded the CPU to 100%.

What can you suggest for maximum stress/stability for the newer Hyperthreading CPUs?

Appreciate it!
