Wondering if anyone has seen this...

I have a TBird 900 on a A7V freshly assembled that I (yes lazily) unlocked using a window defroster repair kit before burning in without unlocking. When I turn it on it fires up for 1-2 seconds and then powers off. You have to wait a few seconds before it will power up again. I double checked and the HS seems to be seated well. It was getting late so I haven't pulled the CPU back out and cleaned the L1 bridges off good and tried again but I was curious if anyone has seen that reaction from one? I did check the L1 bridges carefully and they are not crossed but perhaps one of them is not bridged properly.

My config is TBird 900, A7V, 1x256MB Mosel CAS2, Enermax 430, Leadtek GF2 Ultra, PEP66, DDoc 5. I have unhooked power from everything except the motherboard and removed all cards but the video so far, tried removing the ATX power switch cable from the jumper block but same reaction. My assumption was that if one of the L1 bridges was crossed properly I would just not be able to change the multiplier, then again I'm not that familiar with TBirds so I don't know.

Thanks in advance for any input!

I think probably the bridges are crossed. I had the exact same reaction when trying to unlock my duron - in the end, I found that to unlock it I had to score between the pencil lines with a knife, indicating that they were probably crossing before.

I will be cleaning it up shortly, thanks for the insight.

Nothing to do with the processor. Many KT133 motherboards (including the A7V) power up for a few seconds when power is restored (ex: you plug it in or turn the surge protector/power strip it is plugged into on). It is only after it powers back down that you can start it up again. This is a common occurrence and happened on all of the A7Vs I have owned. It has been fixed, fortunately, on the A7V133 motherboards.
