What are the best steppings for the 1700+ and 2100+ T-Bred B's? Also, which can reach the highest speed when overclocked? I'm not talking about the largest difference from stock to max OC, I'm talking just the highest number MHz in the end. I am thinking for my next cpu upgrade, I am going to go with one of the aforemention over a 2500+, because I am stuck with a KT333 board. Thanx in advance,

Best stepping for the 2100+ imo is aiuhb dut3c 0302. I got mine to 2420mhz 2.1vcore, and I've heard others getting higher. I believe the max overclock for a 1700 was around 3ghz. I can't remember what stepping it was, but a 1700 dlt3c 0310 xpmw is a good choice.

What kind of cooling did you have on it Tyranos.

Cheryp00t, I know I CAN use a Barton, because I have the latest BIOS for my board. However, I will only be able to mess with the multipliers because I dont have a 1/6 divider or anything like that on my board.

With a T-Bred B I can take advantage of the 4/5 divider at 166FSB, but since the Barton is already at 166, raising the FSB isn't gonna work to well considering my PCI anf AGP buses will be raised. What is the default multiplier of the 2500+?

Best stepping for xp2100 (IMHO) was the 0248 AIUHB xp2100, default 1730MHz, mine sits @ 2470 on a FIC AN19-E mobo (kt400).

stepping for xp1700, was the 0319 JIUHB, 1460MHz, mine sits at 2535. check my sig.

So generally, the 1700+ will reach a final speed higher than the 2100s?

What is the default multi of the 2500+? And, for my motherboard, would there be any advantage over the 1700+ over the 2500+?
