Since I want to be able to cool by nb as much as possible, I'm going to take off the orginal heatsink, lap it, apply asc, and put a fan on top.

The only problem is that I Don't know how to mount it, or what size fan to get.

My mobo is a asus A7N8X dkx rev 2.0 and I want to keep the stock nb heatsink. I measure the hs and it is approx. 35mm. So will a cheap 40mm fan from compusa work? Also, it need to fit inbetwen the capacitors of the mobo and my soon to arrive thermalright slk-800u w/ a sf2 on the top.

And do I just need some lond screws to mount it?

Thanks.

the fan dont ahve to be directly on the hs.. you could just have one like around the floppy cage area or 5.25 cage 80 mm fan or so and have teh air aimed at the NB =d
