I have both these parts on order and should arrive sometime this week. I was hoping I could get some help, so that when they arrived I would have all the info I would need to accomplish the task at hand. Anybody out there have the Iwill KA266-R mobo and OC'ed? Is the mobo jumperless or what? If it has a jumperless setting, then do I just play with the CPU with a pencil trying different speeds or do I need to change the mobo jumpers/bios? Any helpful urls would be great. Anybody got a link to a page that will show me which connectors I will to "fill in" to get it to a certain speed? Thanks in advance.

lemme try here:

-the IWILL will have a jumper setting to select your fsb (either 100 or 133mhz)

-any multiplier/fsb/voltage adjustments can be done in the BIOS

-not sure if the 1.2's multiplier is locked or not...if it is check out the homepage. Under 'tips and techniques'
you'll see a lot of cool info. Check out the beginner's guide section, in there is an article on L-1 bridge connecting and what you'll need to do

while you're waiting for your stuff to come in, do your self a favor and read everything else in there...a ton of good info to be had that you'll appreciate later on

let us know how it goes!

Check out FullOn3D.com - on the main page upper right corner click on IWILL KK266 Faq there is a complete Bios optimization guide and Everything you'll need to o/c it .I printed it out and it's helped me a ton. I had a spare t-bird 750 cpu and I unlocked the multilier with rear window trace repair resin as per there walkthru and it worked perfect. Then I did my 900 and it to worked perfect as well. Now I'll be ready to do my 1gig 266 when it shows up tomorrow. It's IMHO the easyiest and most fool proof way to unlock the multiplier one thing I found that made it way easier for me was to take some fine line pin stripe tape and put it on each side of the bridge so I wouldn't get to much on and to leave enough room to do the next one and in doing this it will also insure that you won't short the bridges together either. Good luck,

Obviously those previous posts were from Abit or Asus owners.

As the song say, "This is how you do it"

1. After you are finished w/ 1st boot and Windows and everything is hunky dory.
2. As you go thru loading, before you get to windows, hold down the DEL key, this brings you to BIOS
3. Go to the top right hand corner marked Iwill Smart Settings
4. Enter and go down to FSB settings, change to 140, enter
5. Next will be multipler, leave at default.
6. Voltage is next, change to min. 175, enter
7. Exit and save.
8. You have now overclocked. ( if you did the following)
a. Bought a decent HSF.
b. Lapped it to a mirror finish.
c. Have at least 2 case fans, one sucking in and the other sucking out.
d. Did not have Windows M(might)E(eventually).

This, other than the Overclocking info is tongue and cheek.

In the motherboard reviews section on the front page, there are several articles on the KK266, including BIOS update links. These will give you a good idea of what you can do, and will possibly come up against, and are a good starting point for you.
