I have six computer to hook up, four laptops and two desktops. The laptops have wireless internet access capability whereas the desktops do not. I'm looking for a router that will allow a single cable connection to be shared between the six computers. The requirement is that the laptops remain wireless. Can anyone suggest a router that'll do what I need?

Well for a good price and what I've been looking at is the Linksys BEFW11S4. 4 Port router with wireless access.

That'll allow all six computers to be connected simultaneously? Also, would I need any additional hardware to accomodate the wireless laptops?

Well if the laptops are Wireless network ready then the router will be fine and the 4 ports in the back will be great for hooking up the desktops if they have network cards. I don't see the point for wireless network for desktops because 11megs is 10x slower and no one moves their desktops often.

second that router. or get the linksys wrt54g, same thing but 802.11 g spec, also compatible with 802.11 b. yes, both routers are capable of allowing 6 computers to be connected simultaneously. no additional hardware is really needed, as long as your laptops have integrated wireless or wireless cards already.
