View Full Version : Duron 600 or 750
I'm planning on building my first system and will OC it. I keep hearing about the Duron 600 and their OC'ing ability. Should I go with the 600 or get the 750??? Just in case I get a bad OC'er then the 750 should run higher on average, right?
So should I go with the 600 or 750 since I can get either for the same price?????
Thanks Cyric
Get the 600! They beg to be OC'd and at reasonable voltages. Here's a graphic of mine.
Hoot
I have to agree with HOOT on this, I currently have two 600's @ over 1.1G
DURON 600 @ 1100MHz 110*10 A7V
DURON 600 @ 1130MHz 133*8.5 A7V133
. From what I've seen, the DURON 600 is the "mother" of overclockable chips, giving the highest percentage of increase of any current chip out there, often easily hitting a 166+% increase over rated speed, air cooled.
. It can't be stressed enough, "TEMPERATURE, TEMPERATURE, TEMPERATURE!" Keep an eye on the temperatures and you should be fine. As with any time you are going to be running something this far out of spec, you will be at the mercy of the luck of the draw, your results may vary.
. For the record the code on both of the DURONS that I currently have is AKBA, no guarantee, but might be something look for.

Right now you can get a 750 for about the same price as a 650, they should overclock to about the same. I had two 600's that each hit 1035.
