ok I ordered a slk-800u with a vantec tornado 80x80 and I wondering, should the fan be pointing down at the heatsink or blowing up in the air?

while 80% of the people get better temps with the fan blowing at the hs, some people get better temps the other way around, so you might wanna try reversing the fan and check which one gets oyu better temps

Generally speaking, fan blows on the heatsink.

yeah i haven't heard of to many people getting better results with the fan pointing away. i have mine blowing on the slk 800 and it works better for me than the other way.

i've only heard it blow away on that one alpha heatsink...
