I have some cracking-popping sound when I play game with my ASUS A7N8X Deluxe onboard sound and some people suggested that I should cool the chipset. Do you think this should do the job? Anybody here have cracking popping sound with their onboard sound?

Here is the pic of the chipset I will cool down. It's the one with the green circle

Here is Zalman ZMNB32J Chipset cooler I will be using.

I've heard of it, never had it myself, because the instant I installed my board I threw a heatsink on it. That is the correct chipset to cool- the southbridge. I know it has fixed many members sound problems in the past.

If you are going to use thermal tape, do not use any type of thermal grease with it. If you want to use Artic Sivler, mix in some epoxy and forget about the thermal tape.
