You can probably play Quake, Command and Conquer, Warcraft 2, and other games that are about that old.

-Doom1 & ][
-DukeNukem 3D (i played that bad boy on a 2mb ISA vid card)
-Diablo 1 & possibly 2 /w exp
-Starcraft and exp
-Full Throttle (for fun)
-That one game that 2 gorrilas on top of buildings throw exploding bananas at eachother
-Durability (this is quite fun, you take the computer and throw it off of a high spot, preferably a rooftop or a 12ft ladder)
or
-Push a 3d manacin down a flight of stairs and a truck thing.... (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=223654)

If you're feeling frisky, I'd suggest trying newish real time strategy games. Just be sure to check the minimum v memory requirements since most games will refuse to run if you don't have the minumum. Too bad you don't have 8mb. Most new RTS games require 8mb minimum (like Warcraft 3) : - /
Some I suggest
Empire Earth
Any Infinity Engine game (Baldurs Gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale 1 & 2, Planescape Torment)
The Longest Journey
Half Life / Counter Strike
Deus Ex (maybe)
Unreal (maybe)
Diablo 2
I could go on and on.. again just look for games with low vram requirements and 2d will be far easier to run than 3d. If you are not too picky you could have a lot of fun with that laptop.

get an emulator and play loads of old NES, SNES and Genesis games! I had an old IBM thinkpad with a 486 and it ran NESticle (an NES emulator) perfectly! I had tons of fun with emulators! Cant get any better than those classic games!

ummmm. You guys seem to forget, 600MHZ was king a few years ago.

Check out any of the Command and Conquer series minus renegades or any of the Sim City games up to and including 200.
Also try Unreal Tournament, I used to play that game on my 38-mhz with a 1mb graphic cards on my laptop!

Doom 1 and 2 are kinda played out but those games above will keep you busy for a while

Edit!: I meant 380 MHZ not 38 . Woops!

Leisure Suit Larry, Space Quest, King's Quest..... Remember when Sierra was king. I really miss Space Quest.

I agree. This isn't a 486 as some of you are suggesting.

Holy moly, I laughed for like 2 minutes for that one.

But on a serious note:
I would play Fallout and Fallout 2 on it. By far the best games from that era.

Thats imposiible!!!! Unreal 1 requires at least 233mhz, and a 4meg card!! Quake 2 cant even run on a system like that!!!

My dad has a similar dell but with a 8 meg ATI Rage card.

Pontifex is fun... build crappy bridges and watch them collapse ( chroniclogic.com )

I think maybe Need for Speed 3-4 might work... High stakes worked quit well on a 500mhz desktop... geforce 2 tho...

Unreal 1 would be great. Unreal Gold is only 5-6 bucks

Quake 2 +1...

Shogo was a good game...

Dammit, I was gonna say that :(

You should be able to play Half-life/mods, you can even find low poly models for better fps. Also look at C&C Red alert 1/2, TIberian Sun, and ummm yeah.

I had the exact same laptop with the exception of 128 mb of ram instead of the 192 that you have.

It would run HL and anything lower. 2D games are probably the best for it unless you can take looking at 640 x 480 then you have tons of old 3d games to choose from.

Honestly, on that laptop, you can play any of the following

Unreal
Unreal Tournament-Any mods
HalfLife- Any mods
Rainbox 6
if that cards dx 8 then WC3
Diable 2
Hmmm, gimme time t othink of more stuff i played on my 400 mhz laptop.

One thing that you can play that does not require much CPU power is Paper Weight.

It won't play WIII. I was really hoping it would, but the Neomagic card just won't run it.

If your very, very lucky, try UT2k3, at the lowest res u may be OK.

Did you install DX 9? DX 9 may let you play, it let my play battlefield 1942 on a radeon 7000.

You can run just about anything on that laptop, just not the newest games, anything a year old will run perfect.

Starcraft, D2, WCII, Motocross Madness 2. Some of these games would drop the fps down pretty low, but with low graphics details you should keep the fps at acceptable levels. The sad thing is that you are very limited by your graphics card. The cpu really isnt an issue.

I had DX9, the problem is the vid card is like an S3Virge when it comes to gaming. Very weak. BF1942, MMO, WIII and newer games like that wouldn't even initialize (is that a word?). An r7000 is way way way way way way way better then the Neomagik card. It was barely DX compatible.

I wish this Presario 700 gfx was upgradable. The S3 Twister gfx is better, but not by much(edit: I'll take that back w/ 32 mb thw twister ain't bad).

It would be sweet if you could just swap out vid cards like on a desktop system.

I was wondering if this vid card woul be upgradable but i guess not, and like u said Oc noob newer games wont even initialize, i guess its good for older games. One more thing i was wondering was if there is anyway i can connect my laptop to the tv if there is anything i can buy for that atleast use it as a dvd player and presentation like stuff.
