Help please! ATI & Gigabyte 8KNXP
I just installed a new Gigabyte MB 8KNXP in my PC with a working ATI 9700 AIW Pro (worked good in previous MB).
I am running

P4 2.4/800
2-120GB SATA Seagate Drives in RAID 0
2-256 Kingston Hyper X 3700's or Corsair 3200LL

Everything seemed cool, until I loaded the ATI drivers

The system boots, but it won't accept the ATI drivers ( either 3.5 or 3.6)
Load the drivers and reboot. PC comes up with log on screen fine. But then I get a weird screen with what looks like a bunch or little screen or parts of screens, and dashes. This lasts for about 30 seconds then PC gives me an error 0000415 hardware failure and reboots.
I have read that the Gigabyte board is very paticular about RAM and bought the Kingston as it seems to be the most compatable.
But I get the identical problems.
Currently reloading the OS (Win XP sp1) with the Hyper X installed.
Anyone have any ideas?
What is the error 0000415?

Thanks in advance,
Really hope someone can help.
Eddie

I would try booting " safe mode " , go to device mangler, then right click and remove the display adapter. Reboot and it should redetect the AGP card. Then load the driver that came with the card.

As far as getting the Catalyst drivers to work, if you wanted to get them to work you could do the same thing with them. ( Avioding a reinstall ) And keep trying all of them.

Sorry I cant help much. It sounds like the driver has a problem with the new chipset. I would email ATI. Good luck

Have you posted in Video cards, ATI section? There might be more help there.
