Mine's done this to me a couple of times. Once I managed to fix it by plugging the drive into one of the UDMA66 connectors, booting up and shutting down, then plugging back into the ATA100. And another time I found I had to loosen the screws holding the hard drive in place - in fact I can stop my computer from booting up just by tightening the hard drive screws a little now! Beats me :-)

Did you try moving your soundcard back to the original slot? Sometimes you end up with some crazy conflicts when you move things around.

ya move it back then try the HD without screwing it in-some times the screws can put pressure on the HD case and bend the indide a litlle and it wont read
Try putting the sound card back in it's original spot or taking it out completely and also try a different power connector for the hard drive. Sometimes the power connectors dont make a good connection. That might be why it doesn't seem to be spinning up.
