After reading several articles about the Via KT133a chipset and AMD processors I decided to try and clock my Duron 750 at a FSB of 133Mhz.
Unfortunately, though the system does make it into the Bios screen it fales to boot complete, neither to DOS or Windows.
I have a Aopen AK73Pro(A) and a Duron 750.
I placed the jumper correctly at 133Mhz but even underclocking fails to make a complete boot possible.
Whats up??

Any additional information on if and how I can get my Duron to work at 133Mhz FSB will be extremely apreciated!!

Thanx!

Durons will go 133 on the FSB. I have one and have read of many more that do so. That, having been said, it may need some help doing so. That is in the form of dropping the multiplier, increasing the core voltage, increasing the I/O voltage, or a combination of these. Experimenting with what works and what doesn't is what Overclocking is all about. Keep a log of what you have tried and how far in the boot process you got. That helps avoid duplication of effort. Make certain your Ram is PC133CL3 or faster. First, find out what speeds it runs at using 100 FSB, and at what minimum voltages. That establishes a baseline. As your speed goes up, keep an eye on the cpu temp as it also goes up with speed. Let us know how it works.

Ok, I Got it going and i'm almost too ashamed to tell the way I solved the problem............

Well, ok then!

I turned the turbo-option for my memory in the BIOS of, then it suddenly worked all perfectly.
Right now I'm running a Duron 750 at 933Mhz (7x133), I got the core voltage up to 1,775 and my IO voltage to 3,4volts. It stays pretty cool (43 degrees Celcius) with an average cooler.

Thanks for the help!
