I have a Duron 700 AKCA and am having difficulties hitting 850. As high as I can go is 800 sometimes. My motherboard is a MSI K7T Pro 2-A with Award Bios V2.5. In my BIOS, If I set the vcore to 1.85, the highest it will go is 1.82 according to the system health monitor in the BIOS. When I try and boot up at 850, it goes to the blue screen and to reset the registry and some other stuff. After that it will not enter Windows. If I set the L7 to default at 1.85 it still only goes up to 1.82. I tried to Flash my bios to the Overclock bios but it will not do it. It says bios string does not match.......MSI says on there website to add the paremeter /nbl to fix this but after doing so it say disk not ready and refuses! I believe the overclock BIOS will let you go with a higher voltage. Temp is cool and I just bought a new 350watt powersupply today so that's not the prob. Does anyone know how to get the bios to flash? Damn this sucks!! Well thanks, in advance.

Ok now I have the overclock bios and something odd has happened. Before, when I set to 1.85 all I got ws 1.82 now when I set to 1.85 I get 1.94. Is that weird or what. PC alert 3 says I am at 1.95. Still can't hit 1.85 though it will boot but enter the registry checker and complain about missing dat. Anyone got ideas?

It's not unusual for the bios specified voltage to be slightly different than what the monitoring IC reports. In the case of my two motherboards, the reported voltage is more accurate than what you call for in the bios setting. IE If I call for 1.75 and the monitoring program reports 1.80, I check it with a voltmeter and sure enough it is 1.80. So, if you want a specific voltage, undercut it in the bios selection.

I have the same setup in the MRS's box. Whats MSI Dashboard showing the cpu temp at?

Remove the cover of your box, and get a high flow fan and push air all over the mobo.

They the setting of 7.5x 110fsb 110memory.

The registry errors you are getting is 1 of two things.

Memory or voltage.

At core voltage of 1.65 you should hit 7.5x 110fsb (825) every time.

Peace

I tried for the 825, 7.5x110 but no such luck. It boots up and everything but after the screen that shows what irq's are being used it freezes. Also why does it say unknown flash type?? Could this be a apart of the problem? It always this on the screen which locks up but under normal pc mode there are no problems. I even upped the voltage to 1.85 and still it freezes.

Uh . . . I've got some bad news for you buddy. I think you flashed your board w/ the wrong BIOS. I'd double-check and make sure that you got the right BIOS, for the right board.

Positive I have the right BIOS.
