View Full Version : ASUS's A7M266 allow multiplier change in future bios versions?

I read in a thread a while back that Asus was planning on adding the CPU multiplier changing ability in a future bios update.....can anyone confirm as I cannot find any info on this on Asus's web site

Asus usually implements multiplier settings via DIP switches. While there are settings for clock multiplier in the BIOS, but they are inaccessible. There are also markings for DIP switches on the actual board itself, but no switches are provided. Asus has said that they do not expect clock multiplier settings to be implemented in a BIOS upgrade or by adding DIP sitches on a new revision of the board. So, you can't depend on that especially since Asus is likely to switch to a KT266 based DDR board soon.

If you want DIP switches for multiplier settings, just get the FIC AD11. It's cheaper and I've never seen a negative review or post about this board. Here's a review:
