??? SLK-800 (OLD) work with BARTON???

Hey all!

I have an SLK-800 (Bought it about 6 months ago so its not a revised one) .. Does anyone know if I can use a Barton with this HS?? I know the core is slightly longer so I'm curious if I will run into problems.. Mine is NOT an SLK-800A its just a regular SLK-800.

Barton is still an Athlon XP so of course it would.
It will not work with Athlon 64, FYI.

no problems cuz it uses the same socket mounting mechanism

Yep. I am using one now. Be sure to the bottom of the HS has the 4 little feet on it. They stradle the core just fine.

That's one of the best heatsinks you can use with your Barton.
