I am getting a FIC AZ11E-since i got pc100 and with that board i can run the ram at asynchronous from the processor. What would be the best chip for this board to Overclock with-Duron 850 for $85, 900 for $102 or a Tbird 850 for $101, 900 for $106- but i WILL be gettin pc133 soon-so then i can raise the FSB??? Thanks everyone-

get the tbird 900, that would be the best speed wise and has good oc potential. Also, for price, the 600 or 700 Duron's are around $40 and that deal is awesome!!! But with what you listed, get the Athlon, you should be very happy.

You will like the T-Bird better.
About making you a water block. If i can find some more copper flat bar I would be happy to make you one for free. The thing is I would have to buy a 12 foot stick and that is $285. The friend I got mine from gave me the last he had. the block I made is almost like a Danger Den Maze block.I have an extra one like the one in the picture I posted last nite that you can have if you need one.Just pay the shipping. Let me know.

I have the FIC AZ11-E mobo and I have a duron 650 on it. it currently is running at 900 at 1.8v.
dont get too froggy with the fsb overclock, although the board has the 100/133 jumper, it is a regular kt133 chipset, so 105 is about all you can expect. the only other downside to me was no ISA slot for me to put my awe64 in, but the onboard sound isnt too shabby.

imho the board is very nice for the money you spend, I traded a DFI board + $25 for it, and my duron was an old unlocked one ( lucky me!).....money well spent

let me get this straight-with the tbird 900, 200mhz, it will do 133 right after the unlock? that way when i go to pc133 i can unlock it and up the FSB to 133 ,instead of just the multiplier, or is that chip only 200/100mhz capable?

i have sources up here that have inside information
about the 900`s, they will be coated to prevent
reconnecting of any of the bridges
amd says that all of the newer processors will
amnufactured this way to prevent overclocking

from what I understand, the processor is not the bottleneck, it is the VIA chipset on the motherboard. If you are wanting to run 133FSB you will not get it with the KT133 chipset no matter what processor you have.

The KT133A chipset is what everyone uses to get that high FSB. But you bring up a very good question....

are the Athlons below 1g and Durons able to run at 133 FSB?...I thought they could, but maybe someone could clarify this...thanks!

Yes, my Tbird750 will run at 145 stable on a epox 8kta3. I can go higher but cooling the chip is limiting right now. I get random resets. Once I build a waterblock we'll see if I can get higher.

Sincw im not gonna get the FIC AZ11E because of the kt133 chipset(i wnat kt133A-for the FSB abilities. What is a good board to get for a tbird 850-900, also what would be faster a tbird 850 or a duron 900?
