I would like to thank Azzkicker and Sally21 for their assistance a few weeks ago!!

My problem now is that I have installed a Thermal Take Super Orb in my AMD 1.2Mhz system. Could someone please indicate the appropriate MB temperature and CPU temperature that my machine should be operating at?

At present the MB temp is 32 C/89F and the CPU temp is 59C/138F.

Theres no monitoring of the thermaltake superorb for some reason either.

Also I tried overclocking the external clock settings in BIOS from 100 to about 105 but it just locks up on reboot and doesnt even get into the BIOS - then I have to short the jumpers and reset the machine.

Any thoughts?

First things first. Temps are way to hot. Second I don't think you should be useing an orb on a T-Bird. If you didn't use thermal grease you need some .It will bring the temps down. Be real careful when you take the ORB off. It is real easy to destroy a T-Bird with an ORB when you remove it. If that makes you nervous it should.
In my opion the ORB is not a good thing for a T-Bird. that is my thoughts and a few others.
Like I said you need to get your cpu cooler.

Be CAREFUL-removing that CrapOrb, very dangerous to your chip. Yes temps are too hot-should be 42C chip temp or LOWER, get a PEP, an ALPHA or a FOP, and use good thermal grease -also lap the HS after getting it with 1000grit or higher to get a good smooth finish and better HS to Chip contact

1. Carefully remove the orb, and stomp on it about 400 times.
2. Buy a good hsf, like an Alpha PAL 3065 or a Global Win FOP38
3. Buy some good thermal paste, like AS II
4. Lower your core voltage as much as you can w/o sacrificing stability
5. Enjoy your new cooler system :)

I wouldn´t go with the ORB. IT IS BAD!!!
Get yourself an Alpha or Global Win HS.
Be carefull when removing the ORB, it is likely to crush you T-Bird
