Ok, got the duron today, slapped it in my a7v with normal speed and stuff, and i booted and video didn't come on...then i got a high tone low tone loop from the pc speaker. I turned it off and checked the book, it only had continuous loops, i didnt know if that worked with my 2 tone error. It said ram not detected... So i checked the multiplier and it was set wrong, i thought since cpu hasnt been touched shouldn't it be locked? i didn't think it would make a difference but i set it for the 600. I also made sure my ram was in. Turned it on and it booted, wahoo, i messed around, ran some benchmarks, temp stayed below 38C. I decided that i wanna connect the L1 bridges tonight, so i did. Took it out, followed the guides, and made sure that they didn't touch each other. I put it back in, and i get the same 2 tone error, WHAT IS IT? I fiddled around with stuff like i did before, and it hasn't helped. Please help!! i leave for vacation tomorrow and wanna get this working! I also have the original cpu, a tbird 1ghz, but i didnt' wanna mess with the l1 stuff so i got the duron as a 2ndary cpu. Should i try the tbird again? :( :( !

I had that same noise today. Scared the crap out of me! I thought my computer was DYING! It happened when I tried to set my chip from 1200 (12*100) to 1250 (12.5*100). I had to clear my BIOS and reset everything, but it worked alright after that, and I set it back to 1200. I don't think I'll be doing THAT again anytime soon.
What did you unlock it with? Pencil. conductive pen? if you used a pencil, it might not have taken.

If you try to change the multiplier via the dipswitches and your CPU is locked, often it will refuse to boot.
Ori, 12.5*10 on the A7V and A7v133 actually boots up at 1300 because it sets the multiplier to 12.5 and the FSB speed to 104. I don't know why it does this, but it's true.
I got this error when I plugged in the voltage jumpers the wrong way round. The manual has things upside down to what they are on the board. I started my own thread on the A7V too.
i've had that noise as well once or twice, and it was because of heat. i'd forget to switch on my watercooling, and the computer would hang... then i'd reset, still not realising i hadn't switched on the cooling and it would make that noise and not boot.. then i'd suddenly realise, nearly have a heart-attack, switch on the cooling and switch off the computer. after a couple of minutes it would be fine again...
i do not have happy memories of that noise.. mostly just of blind panic! ;) :)

I don't have a case speaker, that way I don't ever have to listen to those annoying Bios codes :D
