I am currently trying to overclock my K6/2 400. I read the beginners guide on the site, but i am still unsure where to start. My bios setup doesnt seem to have any of the options referred to in the guide. i have an Asus Socket 7 MB-P5A-B motherboard. Any help would be appreciated.
k6-2s aren't very good overclockers, but it's always worth a shot.
chances are that the settings you're looking for are controlled by jumpers on the motherboard. read your mobo manual and look for the jumpers that control cpu multiplier and cpu fsb. these are what you'll have to try and adjust to the get the most out of your cpu (cpu speed = fsb * multiplier).
and carry on reading all the posts you can about the theory of oc'ing. most of them won't apply to you directly, cos everything nowadays is socket a overclocking, but the theory remains the same.. keep it cool, get the fsb up if possible, etc, etc.
good luck, and have fun. :)

K6 II is not a very good overclocker. You can be happy when u get 450 out of it. Even for this I would advice to get a decent cooler. It´s shure that you´ll have to up the voltage a bit. 0.1 or 0.2 should do. On most Socket 7 Boards you won´t be able to raise the FSB over 100, so you should go with the multipliers.
Good luck
