I can connect to my home page, msnbc.com as well as the forums. After that it gets odd. I cannot get to my folding thret page, newegg, googlegear, etc.

I rebooted all my computers as well as my cable modem. I completely reconfigured my Dlink DI-614 Router. And so on. Still no better.

So I called my ISP (Knology.net) and described my problems to them. Basically I found out that I am experiencing the side effects of the Blaster Worm. It is clogging up the net. Is anyone else having this problem? I know that my 3 comps and my laptop are secure and I am still getting screwed. I'm glad I picked up Flight Sim 2004 today. At least I will have something to do.

IE 6 with all MS patches.

Numbstruck is suspiciously absent from work today (maybe the seatle wireless wiki incident) but if you are all patched up and having problems accessing sites on the Internet you may try and reinstall IE.

I am not sure if the folding page, googlegear and the others require secure login but in IE go to help - about Internet Explorer.

The Blaster Worm sometimes takes out the version number and cipher strength causing all sorts of problems in IE.

Reinstall IE and let us know.

Doesn't seem to be clogging up the net connection in my neck of the woods, everything is snappy here on my cable.

Did not reinstall. I had been able to get to most sites I wanted. I have not been able to access the forums all day until now..

Oh well everything is back to normal now.

Blaster is eating up bandwidth in some cases. Charter went down for a while when it first started heating up, but it's subsided now.

very interesting stuff... on 2 of my friends computers that got infected by blaster they were no longer able to go online either. We had to like reinstall ethernet driver and do the whole network setup thing all over..

Also something Welchia (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.welchia.worm.html) also goin around that seems to be messing up internet access too. Just fixed another friends laptop with this. soo many viruses goin around :-/

Yeah my cable connection has dropped from 3MB to 1.2MB.. Plus some sites dont load the 1st time for me. The only site I got probs loading seems to be the OC main page... I think alot of my neighbors have all those worms and slowing the interet on my cable.. they are all PC newbs.
