Thanks

I don't see any reasons why it wouldn't. It is a very compatible GPU and it should work.

Using 3DMark2001, is 1837 good for a GF2MX 32MB? My system is running at 750 Mhz (Duronly). A guess what? Guess! Well, maybe you can't guess, so I will tell you instead. My old Savage4 is only at 563!!!! That's way too slow, huh?

I have one in my system and i think it works well.It is a big improvment over my old card a voodoo 3 3000.

The GF2MX is not THAT much better then my old TNT2 Ultra... I should have bought a GF2GTS, or waited until fall to pick up a GF2Ultra... Here are the numbers:

Celeron 466 w/ TnT2Ultra (170/200) - 3DMark2000 = 1508
Celeron 942 w/ TnT2Ultra (170/200) - 3DMark2000 = 3818
T- Bird 900 w/ TnT2Ultra (170/200) - 3DMark2000 = 3827
T- Bird 1000 w/ TnT2Ultra (170/200) - 3DMark2000 = 3860

*** You can see that the TNT2 Ultra is maxing out around 3800 points ***

T- Bird 900 w/ GF2MX (Stock) - 3DMark2000 = 4684
T- Bird 900 w/ GF2MX (220/176) - 3DMark2000 = 5126 [Det 11.01]
T-Bird 1000 w/ GF2MX (220/175) - 3DMark2000 = 5223 [Det 10.80]

The gf2mx 900 and 1000 tests were done with a format and re-install in between, so the "1000mhz" test doesnt really count, just showing the limit of the gf2mx.

With tweaking, I could get the score up around 5400. Adjusting the D3D settings etc (that what I did with the Celeron 952).

*** You can see that the GF2MX is maxing out around 5400 ***

So, this is what we have: 5400 - 3800 = 1600 Improvement or (42%).

This sounds "ok", but I could run Unreal Tournament in 1024x768 @ 45+ fps on the Cel952 w/tnt2u, so whats the point of that extra 1600 points?

I'd save up and get a GF2 Ultra, and then the scores would be in the 8500 range. Now we're talking!

The improvement Vs. price, at least over the videocard I had, wasnt really worth it.

Cost was $170 cdn, for 1600 points.. Thats about $1 for every 10 points... Pretty expensive!

Hopefully this will shed some light for you.

P.S. My first 3DMark2001 score was 2359 @ 900Mhz
