I remember reading this somewhere here, but for the life of me, I cannot find it. I used the search tool and everything and came up blank. So could someone point me in the right direction?

umm do you mean the automatic fan speed thing? it can be changed in your bios.
 
No I remember reading something like removing the sticker on top of the fan then doing something with the thing underneath.. can't remember exactly.

EDIT: IIRC, it was supposed to give you a lot more than the usual ~2500RPMs.
 
Uhhh... hmmm... Since the pics are now down, does anyone have pics that show...? I think I found the hole (well, at least there's the soldered area underneath), but there's no traces connecting to a resistor. I do see a resistor right beside it though, so I'm gonna try that.

BTW, this is a P4 2.4C retail fan.
